I pay a visit to Oyama shrine on the first day of the year has become an annual tradition!
Anyway…It snowed a lot,
Every where show! snow! snow!
The paper lanterns are not decorate it outside usually,
So when i see it, i became a new year mood.
This is the place for washing our hands by water for purification before visit the god we need to do it.
Yeah… It was cold but i have to.
I walked slowly because it was slippery…
Look at this huge tree!
There are 120 trees over here and it’s 40ｍ height.
It’s 500 years old also!
I read an article about trees in the shrine are connected with gods where live in the heaven as the sky,
Such a great giant trees have strong connecting with them for sure.
There are many buildings inside shrine, this is the main one.
The good luck charms are popular, people love to buy it.
I pulled a fortune slip.
In this shrine mainly pray for safety mountain climber and worker.
Because people started clime 3000m hight Mt.Tateyama since thousands of years ago,
And still today so many people continue visit here from all over the world.
So an earnest traditional events, to worship, shinto purification ritual are still here even now.
Please visit Oyama shrine at Ashikuraji village,
It’s located foot of Mt.Tateyama.
